Delicious, handcrafted ice cream starts with natural and organic locally-sourced ingredients. It’s a little concept we like to call farm-to-frozen. All of the ice creams are made in the kitchen just behind the counter, its a small but mighty space! The creative ice creams, including dairy and dairy-free have been featured both in Minnesota and nationally. Food & Wine magazine nominated Pumphouse Creamery as one of the top 25 ice creams in the country.
Pumphouse Creamery is open 7 days a week, even in the winter here in Minnesota. Crazy, huh? Even crazier is the fact that we have been around for 16 years. The shop opened in 2003 and the ice cream that is made here is the best ice cream we know how to make. Quality ingredients is our backbone here and even though our prices may be lower then other ice cream shops, its the standard of excellence that we like to be measured by.

Also known as Awesomewood Farms! They are the backbone of our ice cream, the cream of the crop as they say. Located in Forest Lake, Minn, they are a gem of a family, managing their farm in a highly sustainable way which includes a rotational grazing system. The base of our ice cream is made by them which includes their dairy, cane sugar and organic egg yolks. There are no added stabilizers, just simple ingredients that we build upon with each flavor.
Hope Creamery Butter
We tried the rest now we have the best. Hope Creamery is located in Hope, Minn and like us they concentrate on making just one product. This fresh and never frozen quality butter is what we use in our waffle cones.
Prairie Hollow Farm
We get our summer fruit from Prairie Hollow Farm. We use their strawberries year round because we are not only obsessed with using local, we use the best ingredients. They are located in Elgin, Minn and organic practices are customary.
Rustica Bakery provides us cookies for our ice cream cookie sandwiches. Have you ever had their bittersweet chocolate cookies? They are the spoiler for all other cookies. We sandwich mint chocolate chip ice cream between their bittersweet cookie and the other offering is their chocolate chip cookie with our Madagascar vanilla ice cream.
Ruby Roasters Colorful Coffee
Located near Stevens Point, Wisc, Ruby Roasters Coffee is exceptional. Its our go-to coffee for our coffee ice creams.
We use Meadowlands hand-crafted bean-to-bar chocolate bars in some of our offerings. Beryl and Clyo, the dynamite duo behind the chocolate make their exceptional product near Hibbing, Minn.
Sunrise Flour Mill
Certified organic heirloom flour is used in our homemade waffle cones brought to you by Darrold and Marty of Sunrise Flour Mill. Heirloom wheat is very different from todays modern wheat and some people find it to be better to digest. We are proud to offer the healthiest organic grains we can find - bonus, it’s local!
Lorence’s Berry Farm
We get our red raspberries from the Lorence family in Northfield. You can get their produce from the St. Paul Farmers Market which includes asparagus and strawberries. The red raspberry ice cream is available in both summer and again in the fall using both of their summer and fall bearing berries. We do sometimes offer raspberry ice cream in the winter depending if we have enough freezer space to freeze these gems!
